Acorn Accountancy and Finance is working with Tata Steel Europe and their Finance function delivering a world class accounting, operational and analytical reporting service to European business areas from a centralised department in Port Talbot.

Within the function, they are currently looking to recruit a Finance Analyst in the Finance Business Partnering Team at our Port Talbot site, South Wales.

Your duties will include but not be restricted to:

• Working with key business areas, supporting and advising tactical and operational decision making through insights that drive better business performance.
• Provide proactive, expert financial direction and decision making advice to partnered leaders, supporting or challenging with alternatives as appropriate and acting as a trusted sounding board.
• Assist in the preparation of business cases and evaluations appropriate to area supported (e.g. capex) and take end user accountability for the development, maintenance and operation of specified systems and processes within their area of responsibility.

The successful application will be required to have system knowledge to report and analyse financial information in a non-standard way, responding to stakeholder queries in an accurate and timely manner.

You will also be expected to utilise best financial practice in evaluation and monitoring of financial data appropriate to area supported (e.g. cost base) in the context of optimising our results.

Within the role, you will ensure all non-standardised reporting requirements occur in an accurate and timely manner, such as OGSM trackers, PIT scorecards, project initiatives, contract trackers etc.

As the ideal candidate, you WILL be educated to degree level or equivalent and qualified or studying with a recognised accounting professional body. You will possess previous accounting experience and ideally be knowledgeable of financial processes, concepts and principles in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

You will be IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel.

You will also have good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative to achieve set objectives and continuous improvements and have strong interpersonal skills to manage ones time appropriately with a ranging customer base.
